STEM United spearheaded the first official League of Legends tournament of Marist School, in collaboration with the Blue & Gold, Marist Online Broadcasting System, Technovation, and Media Critics.

The tournament was held on February 19 and 20, 2021.

STEM United President Marcus Caronongan said that the esports event is a childhood dream of many, including him.

“My friends and I had been discussing [of] hosting a League of Legends tournament during last year’s summer break. The perfect opportunity arose [when] I was elected President of STEM United. What initiated this event is my mission to fulfill the lifelong dreams of the gamers out there,” Caronongan said.

He felt relieved to see the event finally launched, after a year of envisioning and four months of planning.

“Given the success of this tournament, all I can say is watch out for the plans of other organizations. I am not the only one who has been dreaming about this,” Caronongan added.

All participating teams were given a certificate of participation. The winning team, NUV LORDS, bagged game tokens, along with the honor as the first-ever winners of the tournament. Jose Rafael Palomares
