Emmanuel Balocating, gold medalist of Grade 10 from school year 2019-2020, led the completers in a virtual completion ceremony held last September 27, 2020 via Zoom.
In his Address of Thanks, Balocating recalled the adjustments he and his batchmates had to make when they started in junior high school.
“We started from humble beginnings. Back then, we had quite a hard time adjusting and adapting to a great change brought about by our Junior High School life,” he said.
Balocating recognized the “selfless people” who became part of their years in junior high school and whom he considered as gifts: the teachers and personnel, their friends, their parents and guardians, and God.
The gold medalist, who is also the recipient of subject medals in Science and Araling Panlipunan, called on his batchmates to continue being an inspiration and treasure to others.
“Now is the right moment for us, Grade 10 completers, to become the treasures and gifts to others. We pay forward the kind gestures these people have given us by exhibiting dedication and love of work in all our endeavors,” urged Balocating.
Students and their families were invited to the hour-long program, which also recognized Isaiah Leobrera as the Grade 10 silver medalist. It was also attended by school administrators and personnel. Mark Andrei De Leon // Screen capture from Marist School
